Club members gathered at 8:00 p.m. at the home of Sally Carroll and enjoyed an array of Pirelli brownies (courtesy of Don Prusha), Bunsey Brownies,Sandy's lime squares and much more. Members joined in a champagne toast to the Prusha's first grandchild Evan William. It turns out that champagne goes well with kielbasa.
President Sally Carroll convened the business meeting at 8:30 p.m. and asked each member to list 5 or more events or activities that he or she would like to see on the club calendar for 2005. Zo Sykora compiled and read the list. The event listed most frequently was the November election meeting which has been held the last 2 years at Bill Gorris' home. Bill volunteered to host this event again.
The Annual Banquet was not held in January this year but the members agreed that we should go ahead and plan a banquet for April. Sandy Gecsi volunteered to chair the banquet committee.
Pancake breakfasts were on the list of preferred events. The March gathering will be the pancake breakfast at West Geauga High School at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday March 6th. The school is close to the intersection of Cedar Rd. and 306.
The Sykoras agreed to put together a tour or rally on Friday, May 20th.
The Prushas offered to plan an event which will likely include an opportunity to photograph our vehicles and enjoy a meal together.
Several events were listed which club members will likely want to attend:
Dave Bunsey offered to host a clam and steak bake in September.
Sally Carroll offered to host the Christmas Party at her home.
Joy Comey offered to organize a tour of the Emerald Necklace. Brad Babcock offered to help with this event.
Brad Babcock offered to investigate the possibility of running the Alley Ralley in June or later, perhaps with another club. Jan Dyer has told several members that he would be interested in helping with such an event.
Sally Carroll said that she would be willing to offer her property for a Gymkhana for the traditional picnic on the Sunday before Labor Day.
Much discussion followed and the group broke up at 10:30 p.m. A list of all the events included in the lists made by members is attached for future reference.
Respectfully submitted by,
Zo Sykora
